Community Foundation Updates

Today is Betty White’s 100th birthday. To honor this great animal lover, you can join the #BettyWhiteChallenge by donating $5 to your favorite local animal welfare organization or to the El Paso Animal Collaborative.

Ten Socorro Independent School District students are participating in a year-long internship program known as Project Search, which assists students with disabilities in their last year of high school to learn employability skills and transition from high school into the workforce. Last year, Project Search was successful in helping 87 percent of the SISD students in the program to obtain employment within the community.

Helen of Troy, a designer, developer and worldwide marketer of consumer brand-name housewares, health, home, and beauty products with U.S. headquarters in El Paso, is donating $1 million to the El Paso Children’s Museum and Science Center to finance its first-floor café, Little Stars Café.
