Thousands of people are stranded here without basics, fighting cold and hunger, hoping for a better life. In an effort to help these people– who have left their homes to flee even worse conditions, including violence and profound poverty– the El Paso Community Foundation has made grants to the following community organizations, and we encourage you to do the same.

This organization is volunteer-led and provides shelter and support to migrants and refugees. The organization needs monetary donations and volunteers.

Border Refugee Assistance Fund
The Catholic Diocese of El Paso along with Hope Border Institute started a fund to raise money for the five migrant shelters the Diocese currently operates. It also is in need of volunteers.

Opportunity Center for the Homeless
This nonprofit organization serves people who are currently homeless, including migrants. They have an Amazon Wish List of items they need. You can also deliver toiletries, clothes, shoes, and food to 1208 Myrtle Ave.

This charity and homeless shelter averages 200 visitors a day and 185 residents. Donations needed include bath towels, detergent, sheets, deodorant, bar soap, body lotion, blankets, and backpacks.

The Salvation Army is a faith-based organization that is currently serving 3 meals a day at the migrant shelter to hundreds of refugees.
