Auditions for Viva! El Paso will be held Saturday, April 22 from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at the historic Hotel Paso Del Norte. An El Paso tradition going into its 45th year, Viva! El Paso celebrates more than 400 years of local history.
All Auditionees will have to sing, dance, and cold read, and actors will cold-read from the script. A short, prepared monologue is also encouraged. Singers should prepare a song and bring music (sheet music, flash drive, or cellphone recording are acceptable)-accompaniment will be provided. Dancers should wear comfortable clothing and shoes for movement, and choreography will be taught at the auditions.
Those auditioning need to bring a photo ID, Social Security card, a portrait-style headshot, and a resume of past performance/production work, including school information and work history. Those attending should also bring bottled water and a snack (or lunch) for the tryouts. Performers must be 16 years of age or older. Auditions are open to performers living in the El Paso region. There is no fee to audition and all chosen performers will be paid a stipend.
Viva! El Paso performances are scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, June 23 - August 5, in the McKelligon Canyon Amphitheatre. Ticket information will be announced soon. Viva!
