Oculto Film Festival - El Paso Community Foundation | Grants, Scholarships, and Philanthropy Services

The Oculto Film Fest was created by filmmakers from El Paso and Ciudad Juarez to promote horror and fantasy cinema and the Borderland.

The festival offers a complete experience to its audiences and provides connection and visibility opportunities for participating filmmakers.

The first four Oculto Horror Film Fests, as they were then known, were held in Juarez and included feature-length and short films, workshops, interviews with filmmakers, and more.

The Oculto Film Fest, as it is now called, expanded into El Paso for its fifth edition in 2023, making it a truly international event. Recently, the word “horror” was dropped from the name to better reflect the cinematic experience.

The 2024 edition of the Oculto Film Festival will return this fall to El Paso and Juarez. Dates will be announced soon.

A donation to the Oculto Film Fest, an affiliate of the El Paso Community Foundation, will help support the annual event as it expands its international audience.
