Oculto Film Festival - El Paso Community Foundation | Grants, Scholarships, and Philanthropy Services

The Oculto Film Fest was created by filmmakers from El Paso and Ciudad Juárez to promote horror and fantasy cinema and the Borderland.

The festival, which returns October 2025 to the Philanthropy Theatre, offers a complete experience to its audiences and provides connection and visibility opportunities for participating filmmakers.

The first four Oculto Horror Film Fests, as they were then known, were held in Juárez and included feature-length and short films, workshops, interviews with filmmakers, and more.

The Oculto Film Fest, as it is now called, expanded into El Paso for its fifth edition in 2023, making it a truly international event. Recent editions of the El Paso festival have included guests such as character/creature actor Doug Jones and horror film queen Tuesday Knight.

The 2025 edition of the Oculto Film Fest will feature special guests, short films from around the world, Q&As, receptions and more.

A donation to the Oculto Film Fest, an affiliate of the El Paso Community Foundation, will help support the annual event as it expands its international audience.
