MICROCHIPPING INFORMATION AND EVENTS

If located outside of city lines in the county, please email spayneuter@epcounty.com to find out about FREE microchipping opportunities.

If located in the city limits, please check the El Paso Animal Services calendar for Free and Low-Cost Microchipping opportunities.

PLEASE ALWAYS KEEP YOUR MICROCHIPPING CONTACT INFO UP TO DATE! Here is how to do it:

Every time you move or change your phone number, you need to update your contact information for your pet’s microchip.

First go to 24petwatch.com.

Go to Pet Protection and Lost Pet Services.

Go to Pet Parent Login.

Then go to Your Profile.

Go through all contact info and update anything that is out of date. Phone number, address and email!

Add an Emergency Contact to be extra safe.

And be sure to check the box to release your contact info to the Good Samaritan that found your pet - this makes it easier for them to get a hold of you!

THEN BE SURE TO PRESS SAVE CHANGES!

It’s that easy.

If you don’t have your pet’s microchip number, head to a vet, the shelter or a fire station, and they can give it to you.

Here is a video from Animal Service if you need extra help.

The group meets quarterly and allows for a dialogue across the groups to brainstorm solutions to these animal issues. The group is has accomplished and currently working on the following initiatives:

  • “Animal 915 Info Sheet,” a one-page document to improve communication with the public about what to do when encountering different animals in the area.

  • Education and awareness about responsible pet ownership and the programs available for assistance. Encouraging and supporting low-cost and no-cost vaccinations, microchipping and spay/neuters.

  • Awareness about new laws for minimum shelter requirements.

  • Fundraising to make our voice louder and our awareness go further to better the lives of families and animals in the area.

Your generous donation will be put towards projects to improve the well being of animals in the region.
