ABOUT THE BOOK
Colores, Sabores y Dichos is Spanish for “colors, flavors and words wisdom.” When you mix all three, you get 100 ways to say “I love you” to friends, family, co-workers, neighbors and community. This book is a heartfelt collection of photographs, recipes, and dichos. It contains over 50 colorful photographs that invite the reader to imagine 50 different stories. It is a gift of gifts with boundless ways to express love and affection for people who bring meaning to our lives. The essays by Rosa Guerrero and Frank Rene Lopez take the reader into the experiential world of culture, art and the gift of love. The book serves as a gentle reminder that love can be reflected in the small and meaningful gestures of everyday actions. Enjoy, explore, and play with hundreds of ideas.
ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Rosa Ramirez Guerrero is an artist, educator, dance historian and humanitarian. Her efforts have enhanced cultural awareness around the United States. She is the founder of the International Folklorico Dance Group. It was one of the first ballet folklorico dance groups in the Southwest. Her film “Tapestry” based on creating cultural harmony and understanding received national recognition and award documentary filmmaking. She was the first Hispanic woman in El Paso to have a school named in her honor – Rosa Guerrero Elementary School. She has been honored with many local, national and international honors for her humanitarian work. She continues her mission of love, peace and cultural understanding with talks and presentations to audiences near and far.
Frank René López is a reflective leader coach and capacity builder. Over the course of his career, he has worked with hundreds of community leaders and nonprofit organizations primarily in California, Texas and New Mexico. His reflective leadership practice assists clients with stress/burnout and increasing both personal and organizational impact. He is a teacher at heart and has taught at several universities, including the University of California at Berkeley, NMSU and Texas Tech University School of Law. He has delivered presentations all over the country. He is a writer and artist.
