This My work is an ongoing investigation of the possibility that all objects and the matter that makes them up is lively, and that, in states of being - autonomous or manipulated, isolated, or assembled- material elevates the status of all other materials. I’m concerned with the properties of materials and the ways they are inextricably enmeshed in a dense network of relations. Utilizing sites, assemblages, and models, I combine and manipulate objects and materials that are prevalent yet frequently overlooked or seen as quotidian. Here, I seek juxtapositions, illuminating the elementary and sensory specificity of the materials. My work often functions as a form of research, predicated on material sensitivities, our culture of abundance and rapid loss of resources, and bodies of knowledge, such as processes of chemical reactions or psychological thought experiments. Through this, I aim for a more ecological outlook stemming from horizontal juxtapositions rather than a vertical hierarchy of being.
