It concludes the 2015-2016 season of the El Paso Community Foundation’s Jewel Box Series at the Philanthropy Theatre with performances at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 13-14, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 15 in the Philanthropy Theatre, part of the Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Centre. The award-winning play is all about Miss Fleeta Mae Bryte (played by director Greg Smith), a sixtysomething woman from the fictitious West Texas town of Precious Heart. She shares stories about her past, family, friends and dreams.

This marks the play’s El Paso debut following performances in Dallas, Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio, where it won a best original play award from the Ohio Community Theatre Association. Precious Heart also was a semifinalist in the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center’s National Playwright’s Conference in 1993.
