Feed the Frontline, EP to provide 2,400 meals to hospital staff

Feed the Frontline, El Paso will host a clinician meal-support event on Friday, October 30. The organization, an affiliate of the El Paso Community Foundation, will provide breakfast meals for 2,400 healthcare personnel at four The Hospitals of Providence campuses, paid for with donations from the El Paso community.

“Now more than ever, actions like these mean the world to our team and we are so incredibly grateful,” said Nicholas Tejeda, Group CEO for The Hospitals of Providence. “During this challenging time, we continue to receive the support from Feed the Frontline, El Paso and so many generous organizations wanting to make a difference and brighten the days of our staff — we are so thankful to them.”

In addition to the meals purchased by the organization, Texas-based restaurant group Whataburger is donating 2,400 cinnamon rolls to the event.

Formed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Feed the Frontline, El Paso uses donations to purchase and deliver meals from restaurants to area healthcare personnel — FREE of charge. Year to date, the organization has raised more than $80,000 in donations and delivered over 8,000 meals to those affected by the pandemic.

“While we never expected to continue operations this late into the year, we’re committed to doing what’s necessary to care for El Paso’s healthcare heroes,” said Cody Nethery, Interim Director of Feed the Frontline, El Paso. “This work would not be possible without the continued generosity of the El Paso community.”

Feed the Frontline, El Paso is asking for the community to consider donating as COVID-19 cases have reached an all-time high in El Paso. Current funding will sustain operations only through November 7.
