Foundation, Festivals grow
November 5, 2013Doug Pullen, formerly the entertainment writer for the El Paso Times, has joined the staff of the El Paso Community Foundation.
Doug will primarily work on the Plaza Classic Film Festival (August 7-17, 2014) and Chalk the Block, a free public art festival presented in conjunction with the City of El Paso.
“We are really pleased to have Doug join the family,” said Eric Pearson, president and CEO of the El Paso Community Foundation. “His talent as an organizer, a communicator, and his vast network of national contacts in the entertainment industry make him a perfect fit for what the Foundation has been doing with the Plaza Classic and Chalk the Block.”
Pullen, an El Paso native, worked for two decades in Detroit before his return to El Paso and the Times several years ago. “I am looking forward to working to make things happen, as opposed to reporting on the happenings around town,” said Pullen.
